Archil Gachechiladze
Executive director and CEO of Lion Finance Group PLC and CEO of Bank of Georgia
Prior to his appointment, Archil served as CEO of Georgian Global Utilities (formerly part of BGEO Group PLC) during 2017-2019.
With more than 20 years in financial services, Archil held various senior and executive roles in Georgia as well as abroad. Having spent some time with Lehman Brothers Private Equity, he returned to Georgia in 2008 and joined Bank of Georgia as Deputy CEO, Corporate Banking in 2009. His subsequent roles with BGEO Group PLC include Deputy CEO, Investment Management, CFO of the Group, and Deputy CEO, Corporate and Investment Banking. Archil’s wider experience includes working at Salford Equity Partners, EBRD and KPMG Barents.
Archil holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Tbilisi State University and an MBA with distinction from Cornell University. He is also a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA society in the United Kingdom.
Giorgi Shagidze
Deputy CEO (Subject to regulatory approval), Chief Financial Officer
Giorgi Shagidze joined Lion Finance Group PLC and Bank of Georgia as Chief Financial Officer in March 2026. Prior to joining the Group, he served as Chief Executive Officer of MAIB, the largest bank in Moldova, from 2021 to 2025.
Between 2010 and 2020, Giorgi held several senior leadership roles at TBC Bank Group PLC, including Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Operating Officer, and was a member of the Executive Board. During this period, he was responsible for financial management, strategic planning, treasury operations, capital raising, and investor relations. Earlier in his career, Giorgi worked at Barclays in its UK Global and UAE Emerging Markets centres, and also held positions at Bank of Georgia, People’s Bank of Georgia, and Tbiluniversalbank.
Giorgi holds an MBA from the University of Cambridge and a Master’s degree from Tbilisi State University. He has completed the Stanford Executive Program at Stanford Graduate School of Business and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
David Chkonia
Deputy CEO, Chief Risk Officer
Prior to his current role, David served as a senior advisor and Director of International Business at Bank of Georgia during 2021-2022. Before joining the Bank, he held senior positions in local and international organisations. He was Deputy CEO/Chief Risk Officer at TBC Bank during 2017-2020. Prior to that, David was a Director at BlackRock in London, where he advised financial institutions and regulators on risk management, balance sheet strategy and regulation. He also served as a Senior Vice President at PIMCO, where he was responsible for the risk advisory practice. During 2009-2011, David Chkonia worked at European Resolution Capital.
David holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s degree in Finance from San Jose State University.
Ana Kostava
Deputy CEO, Chief Legal Officer
Ana became a direct report to the CEO in October 2021. She joined the Bank of Georgia in April 2018 as Senior Group Lawyer (2018-2020). Prior to that, between 2015 and 2018, Ana was an Associate at Dechert LLP. Ana has experience working at the World Trade Organization Appellate Body Secretariat and the European Court of Human Rights. She started her career in law as Associate at Legal Partners Associated LLC in 2010. Since 2015, Ana has been an Associate Lecturer at Free University of Tbilisi.
Ana holds an LLM from University of Cambridge and an LLB from Caucasus University, Caucasus School of Law. She also holds a Harvard Law School Executive Education Certificate of Leadership in Corporate Counsel.
Nutsiko Gogilashvili
Head of International Business
Nutsiko has been with the Group since 2016. Most recently, she served as Deputy CEO, Mass Retail Banking (2022–2025) at Bank of Georgia, where she contributed to the development and rollout of key initiatives in mass retail, with a focus on expanding product offerings and supporting customer engagement efforts. Prior to that, she was Head of Strategic Processes for Corporate and Investment Banking (2016–2017) at Bank of Georgia, overseeing workstreams related to human capital and customer experience. In 2017, she became Head of Customer Experience at Bank of Georgia.
Before joining our team, Nutsiko was Head of Strategic Planning and Budgeting at TBC Bank. Earlier in her career, she worked as an analyst at J.P. Morgan in London (2011–2014).
She holds a master’s degree in Finance from Bayes Business School and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
Samuel Goodacre
Adviser to the CEO, Lion Finance Group Plc
Sam has extensive experience in banking, having spent almost 20 years holding various senior roles in capital markets and investment research at global investment banks. Prior to his appointment at Lion Finance Group in January 2025, Sam served as the Head of Emerging Market Banks Research at J.P. Morgan and before that at Morgan Stanley.
Sam graduated with Honours from Durham University in Business Management and Languages.
